How to Adjust Printable Paper Margins

Adjust the blank space around PAPRIVELA’s pattern without changing its spacing. Check browser print margins and your printer’s unprintable area separately.

Who this helps

For a page clipped near an edge: compare 12 mm and 20 mm content margins, then check the browser and printer settings. The tool moves the pattern inward; it cannot change the printer’s unprintable area.

Three separate margins

All margins is source blank distance from sheet edges to the drawing area. A browser can add print margins, while hardware has an unprintable area. Changing source margins does not calibrate a driver.

Inset without shrinking

All margins 20 leaves a 170 × 257 mm A4 drawing area, still with 8 mm ruling. A Left guide offset of 20 now puts the guide 40 mm from the sheet edge. One All margins value applies to all four sides.

Create it step by step

  1. Open the 20 mm configuration. Confirm A4, Vertical, Millimeters and All margins 20.
  2. Keep Line spacing 8 and Left guide offset (0 = off) 20. Under Line appearance, confirm Line width 0.2 and Pattern color #8aaccb. Compare the 12 mm sample.
  3. Choose Print / Save as PDF at A4 portrait and 100%. Remove additional browser margins when available and print one test.
  4. Inspect all four sides. If clipping persists, consult the printer documentation for that mode. Use the helper below to check scale separately.

Print or export

Download SVG keeps one inset ruled sheet with fewer lines than the 12 mm version. A PDF page can remain A4 while content is further inset.

Match paper size and orientation. Print at 100% / Actual Size and check one test sheet before making copies.

Check scale separately

Increasing All margins moves the source pattern inward; it does not correct scale. The helper has a separate 12 mm reference frame. Check clipping on your original ruled page and measure scale separately.

Common questions

Can I change just the binding side?

The outer margin is one value for all sides. The left guide is a reference, not a separate binding margin.

Should I use borderless mode?

Such modes may expand content. Check driver settings and remeasure; borderless does not establish actual size.
